Zen Buddhism Becomes Popular in the US

We’ve read how meditation in the mainstream is being recognised by British scientists as a way to cure depression. Now in the US, Zen Buddhism has a huge following.

The New York Zen Center is the first Buddhist organization to provide chaplaincy to a mainstream New York hospital — the Beth Israel Medical Center. Student chaplains visiting staff and patients conduct weekly group meditations to help patients and employees who may be under stress.

The Zen Circle symbolises Zen Buddhism Zen Buddhism, like mainstream Buddhism, focuses on gaining enlightenment through meditation. Zen began in China back in he 6th century CE. “Zen” is the Japanese word and “Ch’an” is the Chinese word derived from the Sanskrit word “Dhyana” meaning “meditation.”  Zen declines the study of scriptures, devotional practices and any religious rites (Source: Encyclopedia Britannica).

According to Forbes magazine, meditation is one of the ten best stress relievers.

I’m often roaming about the online world almost all of the night thus I have a tendency to read quite a bit, which unfortunately isnt usually a beneficial thing as several of the internet websites I find are constructed of worthless garbage copied from many other internet sites a trillion times, but I gotta say this website is actually quite informative and even boasts a lot of authentic content, for that reason many thanks for splitting the trend of basically copying other folks’ websites.
